Self reflection is something that I love doing regularly, and life is definitely something I ponder over around my birthday period. Recently turning 26 means that I am a lot closer to 30 than I am 20 (this actually scares me writing this), but I know that there is a lot that I have learned about myself and life over the past 26 years in hopes to become a better me. This is something that I wanted to share with you guys to spark a conversation with you guys. I also have a little surprise at the end if you follow it through!
I also did something similar when I first launched this site at the dear age of 25, so if you want to go check that you then click here.

Here are 26 things I have learned over my 26 years of life, that I thought would be fun to share with you all...
1. People are either a blessing or a lesson in your life. Learn which is which.
2. People make mistakes (myself included) but as long as you learn from it to become a better person then don't beat yourself up about it.
3. As much as you might want to change things that have happened in the past, it has also shaped you to the person you are today.
4. People come and go in your lives but this is a natural part of life, and that's okay.
5. You have to learn to take risks in life in order to grow as an individual.
6. Self love is the first and foremost love you should be teaching yourself.
7. Be true to yourself and make sure this reflects in your actions and behaviour.
8. People will always hurt you at some point in life, whether that be friends or family, but the real question is who are the ones worth hurting for?
9. Spending time with yourself can sometimes be the best therapy there is.
10. The Japanese say you have 3 faces - The one you show to everyone, the one you show to your close friends and family, and the one you keep to your self and don't show anyone. Personally, I don't think this means you're fake, it means you don't let anyone and everyone see everything about you.

11. Being alone does not mean you are alone. It is the perfect time to grow and find yourself, and this can be a very rewarding journey.
12. Experiences are what will create memories and joy, not the materialistic things in life.
13. It doesn't mean anything if you look good or have money, what matters is your character.
14. My life motto has always been " I do not want to look back on life and regret not trying anything". This is something I still stand by.
15. Write sh*t down, get stuff done.
16. As you grow through life your friends circle reduces significantly. This is something I am content with as I would rather have a small group of quality friends than a million acquaintances.
17. Trust the process and take action on what you have control over.
18. Life is a lesson of learns, you will go through so many, just take on board the key lessons and use that to help you grow as a person.
19. Don't take bullsh*t from anyone.
20. Respect, trust, communication and loyalty are the foundations to any type of relationship.
21. Don't let others that have no impact in your life dictate what you can/cannot do.
22. Appreciation and gratitude will take you far in life, so make sure you start showing these to those important in your life.
23. Be comfortable with having uncomfortable conversations with people. You have a right to express how you feel.
24. Try not to rely on too many people. If you have no expectations, there is no room for disappointment.
25. Gym/working out is more than just a physical change, for me I feel better internally once I've worked out.
26. Forgiveness is key. I hold no animosity towards anyone that has done me wrong. Instead I wish you all the best.
Some could be perceived a bit pessimistic but I also think that I am a just being real. What I really want to know is are there any of these reflections that resonate with you? Or do you have any other life lessons that you have learnt throughout your years that you would like share? Let me know your answers in the comments!
I have also created a "Think Me: Reflections at... Years" worksheet where you can take some time to sit down with yourself and have a think about the things you have learned in your years on this earth! Go check out my Resources page where you can download it!
I appreciate you all who have supported me in my journey to try and build The Tahmi Life! I hope to be able to give back to you guys with resources and content that can help impact your life for the better! X
